Natural Circle – Reflect on your connection to nature and the physical environment. Do you spend time outdoors? Do you notice and appreciate natural beauty? Do you feel connected to the earth and seasons?

Spiritual Circle – Evaluate your sense of meaning, purpose, and connection to something greater than yourself. Do you have clear values and purpose? Do you engage in practices that nourish your spirit? Do you feel part of something larger?

Step 3: Identify Patterns (3 minutes)

Look at your ratings and identify patterns:

  • Alignment Gaps – Where is there a large difference between satisfaction and energy investment? High energy investment but low satisfaction suggests ineffective engagement. Low energy investment but high satisfaction indicates an area that's working well with minimal effort.
  • Neglected Circles – Which circles have both low satisfaction and low energy investment? These are your most neglected areas and often represent the greatest opportunity for improvement.
  • Overinvested Circles – Which circles receive disproportionate energy relative to your satisfaction? This might indicate workaholism, people-pleasing, or other patterns where effort doesn't translate to fulfillment.
  • Strength Circles – Which circles have high satisfaction? These are your resources and sources of resilience during difficult times.

Step 4: Choose Your Focus (2 minutes)

Based on your assessment, identify one or two circles that would benefit most from increased attention. Don't try to fix everything at once—sustainable change happens through focused, incremental improvement.

Consider these criteria when choosing your focus:

  • Which circle, if improved, would have the greatest positive impact on your overall well-being?
  • Which circle feels most urgent or is causing the most distress?
  • Which circle offers the easiest quick wins to build momentum?

Step 5: Commit to One Action (2 minutes)

For each focus circle, identify one specific, actionable step you can take this week. Make it small, concrete, and achievable. Examples:
